About Clare Carney

I have a BA (hons) degree in Fine Art, and an Art Teacher's Certificate (PGCE).

For the first 15 years of my career I worked as an Art teacher in schools teaching Art and Ceramics up to A'level. During this time I became involved in various Community Arts projects. In 2003 I set up 'Art Sparks', a freelance business which focuses on developing bespoke Visual Arts projects in schools and the community to inspire and engage learning and participation in various contexts. This involves exciting and varied work with schools, museums, community groups and local councils across the Midlands and has included 4 years working for Creative Partnerships as an Artist leading creative learning projects in schools.

I'm based at The Sanctuary Fine Art Studios and Gallery in Northampton where I have a studio space.

I have just founded Northampton Art School for Young Artists; a space for young people who enjoy art to join classes to support their artistic development and creativity.

I'm happy to travel throughout the UK for project work. I have public liability insurance and up to date criminal records bureau checks..
